EPIM, an initiative of currently 14 Partner Foundations and 11 associated Foundations, has the goal of strengthening the role played by civil society in advocating for constructive approaches to migration in Europe. This is done through grant-making, capacity development and networking.
In its fourth funding phase (2016-2018), EPIM opens calls for proposal on a rolling basis in targeted topic and geographic areas. Thematic focuses so far include immigration detention, long term prospects for children on the move, reforms of the Common European Asylum System and the access of mobile EU citizens to housing and social benefits. EPIM’s funding plus work has a particular focus on developing capacities in messaging and strategic communication on migration.
The project will inject crucial and necessary resources into existing informal collaboration among NGOs and IGOs at EU level who have been deeply involved in advocacy work around law and policy concerning children in migration for several years. By developing a common portfolio of EU advocacy papers, meetings and webinars, collating existing expertise, projects and activities, organisations will be more proactive, strategic and impactful.
