Digital Sovereignty Forum

Organised by the Joint Research Centre (JRC), the first edition of the Digital Sovereignty Forum is building a solid connecting point within Europe for academia, policymakers and practitioners to become the policy and scientific pulse of digital sovereignty.

To be held in Brussels during mid-November 2026, the Forum is a unique opportunity to gather and empower a ‘Digital Sovereignty Community’ consisting of stakeholders from across Europe, including EC Institutions, policy makers, industry representatives and academics. This will enable us to focus on relevant and stronger scientific outputs that stakeholders can use for advancing sovereign implementation.

Our ambition is to:

  1. Present  domain specific, key scientific and policy findings on European digital sovereignty.

  2. Provide a unique stakeholder connecting point to increase domain awareness for facilitating peer learning and ensuring the exchange key policy recommendations for achieving digital sovereignty.

  3. Facilitate the ‘Digital Sovereignty Community’ to establish connections and build trustful relationships that can lead to future collaborations which advance digital sovereignty readiness and maturity.

  4. Identify potential areas for future research and policy development which the JRC can investigate individually, or together.
