Brief me
Artificial Intelligence (AI) will play a central role in mobility of the future, particularly through its critical role in the advancement of autonomous driving.
Autonomous vehicles (AVs) offer the potential to bring about significant benefits, such as improving safety, mobility, and reducing CO2 emissions. Yet the general behaviour of an AV depends on a set of multiple, complex, interrelated AI-based systems, and their widespread adoption involves addressing significant technical, political and societal challenges.
At the JRC, we carry out research to help address these challenges, and on this page you can find an overview of our publications and activities on the topic.
