A series of Explorer Labs for European institutions staff: Learn to harness data for daily work

In this series of three online Explorer Labs, the JRC team on composite indicators and scoreboards will guide participants to navigate and familiarise with the JRC Indicators Explorer tool to explore data-driven narratives.

Participants will learn how to use the different features of interactive dashboards, apply data analysis, generate data visuals, analyse scoreboards, create country profiles based on specific policy areas of interest. The examples are tailored to serve users who produce briefs, speeches, and simply want to utilise analytical insights in their daily work. Each session will focus on exploring data related to one of the new Commission priorities.

Presentation of the Explorer Tool to the Chamber of Deputies in Italy

On this occasion, the JRC team on composite indicators and scoreboards presented the JRC Indicators Explorer to the Chamber of Deputies in Italy. The event was an opportunity to discuss how composite indicators and scoreboard metrics can support evidence-based policymaking. Participants also explored how data-driven narratives can be created using interactive dashboards and data visualisation tools.

 

Presentation at the Annual workshop on Survey Methodology in Brazil

On 27th August 2024, the JRC team on composite indicators and scoreboards presented the JRC Indicators Explorer at the Annual Workshop on Survey Methodology, co-organized by the National School of Statistical Sciences (ENCE) of the Brazilian Institute for Geography and Statistics (IBGE).

The presentation discussed the potential of integrating multidimensional measures in study of the digital domain, applying data analysis techniques and reviewing data storytelling principles. Participants explored chart infographics, map chart app tools, and interactive dashboards to analyse indicators through practical exercises.
