The EU is firmly committed to pursue its cooperation with partner countries to achieve the Sustainable Development Goal of Zero Hunger, improve nutrition and alleviate food insecurity by strengthening the resilience of food systems and investing in sustainable agriculture.
In light of the rising food prices and input costs and the dire food security situation in food insecurity prone countries, the EU has step up humanitarian assistance to the regions and population groups most affected by food insecurity.
The EU is a major stakeholder of the Global Network against Food Crises and of the international Coalitions for Action “Achieving Zero Hunger” and “Fighting food crises along the Humanitarian, Development and Peace Nexus”.
