World Urban Forum 11

JRC stand

The World Urban Forum (WUF) has been established as a non-legislative technical forum through the UN General Assembly resolution 56/206 in 2001, is convened by the UN-Habitat (United Nations Human Settlements Programme) and hosted in a different city every two years.

The eleventh Session of the WUF is convened by UN-Habitat and the Government of Poland in Katowice (Poland) in the period 26-30 June 2022. The theme of WUF 11 is Transforming our cities for a better urban future.

The WUF is considered as the "world’s premier conference on cities", examining the most pressing issues related to human settlements, including rapid urbanization and its impact on cities, communities, economies, climate change and policies. UNGA resolution 69/226 recognises WUF as the "foremost global arena for interaction (…) in the field of sustainable urban development and human settlements" and it is also recognised as for its innovative and inclusive nature.

The JRC has worked with our partners to bring new knowledge and data to the discussion.

Attendees can visit the JRC stand at the URBAN EXPO - Hall 2 - Stand 25.
