Organised in collaboration with the Department of Economics and Management of the Parma University (Parma, Italy). The school aims to illustrate the motivations to conduct Sensitivity Analysis on simulation models, offering accessible treatment of the techniques used in Global Sensitivity Analysis. The programme will start from the first principles and will guide the students through the full range of recommended practices with exercises and application examples.

The scientific programme covers topics such as: introduction to sensitivity analysis and overview of techniques, uncertainty analysis, sensitivity analysis, graphical methods, derivative-based measures, high dimensional model representations, variance-based and screening methods, polynomial chaos expansions, sensitivity analysis with given data, sensitivity measures for correlated inputs, practicum, exercises for students, round table with selected case studies from students.
A preliminary list of instructors is: Andrea Saltelli (UPF Barcelona School of Management - University of Bergen), Stefano Tarantola (JRC), Thierry Mara (University of La Réunion), Marco Riani (University of Parma), Rossana Rosati (JRC), Sergei Kucherenko (Imperial College London), Ricardo Bolado (JRC), Elmar Plischke (Clausthal University of Technology), and Emanuele Borgonovo (Bocconi University).
The school will be held in Parma - Department of Economics and Management of the Parma University (Via John Kennedy, 6, 43125 Parma (PR), Italy).
The school can accommodate up to 25 participants. Candidates will be selected based on their CV and relevance of the motivation letter. The following criteria will be taken into account: priority to PhD students and researchers whose ongoing scientific work requires sensitivity analysis, gender balance, candidates with at least basic knowledge in statistics and programming skills.
The school is free. The students will have to cover (and organize) their own travel and accommodation expenses.
