Crisis Response Initiative: From crisis to recovery: results, implementation and lessons learned

  • Publication | 2026

The Crisis Response Initiative (CRI) - made possible by the generous contributions of Germany, Ireland, the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Norway and the United States - demonstrates the transformative impact of timely, country-led interventions in mitigating the effects of global crises on the world’s most vulnerable rural populations.

This report documents the CRI’s journey from its launch in April 2022 to its completion in December 2024, offering a comprehensive account of what was achieved, how it was delivered and what was learned. Drawing on the final reports from all 16 countries of implementation, it presents the initiative’s t results and outreach, examines delivery across each of the CRI’s four pillars, and presents lessons for IFAD’s future crisis response work.
