This technical policy brief presents findings from a national agricultural mechanization needs assessment conducted in Togo as part of the project Agricultural Transformation in Nigerian Federal States and Togolese Regions Towards Achieving Zero Hunger (March 2021–January 2026).
The brief provides a structured analysis of the mechanization landscape in rice and cassava value chains, identifies bottlenecks and gaps, and outlines actionable recommendations for key stakeholder groups.
The assessment was developed by the International Institute of Tropical Agriculture (IITA) and the AfricaRice centre, in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Animal Resources, and Food Sovereignty (MAPRASA), with financing from IFAD.
