Uganda: Country Food and Agriculture Delivery Compact

Global Food and Nutrition Security

While Uganda is a net agricultural exporter, it is a net cereal food importer. Food crop production over the last 5 years has increased significantly and the target for next 4 years is to increase by 1.64% from the 2019/2022 production levels. Implementation of the Compact will directly contribute to increase production and productivity, improve food security and nutrition, in line with the Government strategy to transform Ugandan agriculture and livestock into a thriving sector and a driving force for inclusive growth and economic diversification.
