The Coalition support the implementation of country pathways for food system transformation through agroecology in three areas:
- Facilitating co-creation and exchange of knowledge
- Promoting increased investments in agroecology
- Seeking political engagement and increased commitment to the agroecological transformation
As of May 2023, the Coalition includes 44 member states and 3 regional commissions and more than 100 organisations.
The Agroecology Dialogue Series is an initiative of FAO and the Biovision Foundation to support the work of the Coalition and the upscale of agroecology. The series consists of thematic dialogues:

Beyond the farm: Exploring the synergies between agroecology and conservation communities
Agroecology as a response to agri-input scarcity
The Coalition has adopted a strategy for the period 2024-2030, outlining a comprehensive and collaborative approach to transforming food systems through agroecology.
The European Commission is a member of the Coalition and provides financial support to its Secretariat.
