Hazards Watch for East Africa
The East Africa Hazards Watch supports tracking extreme events such as drought, cyclones, pests (desert locust), heavy rainfall, floods or crop failures, which are increasing in frequency and intensity due to climate change.
IPCC Interactive Atlas on climate
Tool for flexible spatial and temporal analyses of much of the observed and projected climate change information including regional synthesis for Climatic Impact-Driver.
ASAP - Anomaly Hotspots of Agricultural Production
ASAP is an online decision support system for early warning about hotspots of agricultural production anomaly (crop and rangeland), developed by the JRC for food security crises prevention and response planning anticipation.
ASIS - Agriculture Stress Index System
The seasonal indicators are designed to allow easy identification of areas of cropped land with a high likelihood of water stress (drought). The indices are based on remote sensing data of vegetation and land surface temperature combined with information on agricultural cropping cycles derived from historical data and a global crop mask.
GEOGLAM CM4EW - Global Agricultural Monitoring
GEOGLAM provides a framework which strengthens the international community’s capacity to produce and disseminate relevant, timely and accurate forecasts of agricultural production at national, regional and global scales through the use of Earth Observations (EO) including satellite and ground-based observations.
WFP PRISM
PRISM is a climate risk monitoring system that integrates geospatial data on hazards such as droughts, floods, tropical storms, and earthquakes, along with information on socioeconomic vulnerability, to inform disaster risk reduction and social assistance programmes.
WMO Statement on the state of the Global Climate
Every year, WMO issues a Statement on the State of the Global Climate. It is based on data provided by National Meteorological and Hydrological Services and other national and international organizations. The document gives a rapid overview of the main climate anomalies and extremes that occurred in the analysed year and describes the year in relation to the main climate trends driven by climate change. This is a rapid and useful overview also in an agricultural monitoring and food security context.
Copernicus Emergency Management Service
Copernicus Emergency Management Service (Copernicus EMS) provides information for emergency response in relation to different types of disasters, including meteorological hazards, geophysical hazards, deliberate and accidental man-made disasters and other humanitarian disasters as well as prevention, preparedness, response and recovery activities. The Copernicus EMS is composed of an on-demand mapping component providing rapid maps for emergency response and risk & recovery maps for prevention and planning and of the early warning and monitoring component which includes systems for floods, droughts and forest fires.
