The EU defined food security as a strategic priority for EU development policy. A comprehensive policy framework has been adopted to promote food security and combat malnutrition.
The Farm to Fork Strategy will enable the transition to a sustainable EU food system that safeguards food security and ensures access to healthy diets.
Food 2030 is a research and innovation policy within the Bioeconomy built on food and nutrition security priorities. The systems approach it put forward is mainstream in the Farm to Fork Strategy.
There is currently no EU food and feed security legislation or nutrition security legislation.
