Viet Nam has demonstrated that setting policy coherence as an objective can support a more effective policy mix where efforts in one area do not obstruct or compromise another but instead reinforce each other. The government is leveraging multistakeholder inputs at all levels to inform solutions to the complex challenges of agrifood systems transformation it is facing. It is taking critical steps to ensure the necessary finance and investment to translate policy and programmatic agendas into positive impacts on health, livelihoods and the environment. The continued adoption of a systems approach in Viet Nam will reduce the overlaps, legislative and regulatory duplication and confusion. Successful programming will be more likely, and impacts accelerated at the territorial level.
