Assessment of Endpoints for Evaluating Mechanistic Evidence of Carcinogenic Hazards
The IARC Monographs Programme uses the 10 key characteristics (KCs) of carcinogens to identify and evaluate how substances cause cancer. A recent scientific workshop gathered experts to improve the consistent and transparent application of this framework in future evaluations. They discussed new data sources, interpretation of evidence, and ways to better integrate mechanistic findings.
The outcomes will guide future expert groups and strengthen carcinogenic hazards identification worldwide.
