The European Asylum Support Office is an agency of the European Union set up by Regulation (EU) 439/2010 of the European Parliament and of the Council. As an important actor of European solidarity, the European Asylum Support Office (EASO) plays a key role in the implementation of the Common European Asylum System (CEAS), fostering greater cooperation with and between Member States and providing the necessary support in order to translate into practice the core values of the CEAS, equity and fairness, and to ensure that individual asylum cases are dealt with in a coherent way by all Member States.
