Brookings-LSE Project on Internal Displacement

Since 1994, the Brookings Institution’s Project on Internal Displacement has sought to promote the human rights of internally displaced persons through advocacy and research. In a unique partnership, the Project works with the representative of the UN secretary-general for the human rights of internally displaced persons to support the development and implementation of policies by governments, international organizations, and civil society that uphold the rights of IDPs. The Project prepares major studies and develops resources to strengthen the normative framework for IDP protections based on the Guiding Principles on Internal Displacement and works to enhance both the will and the capacity to protect IDPs.
