Four years after the Cancer Plan's launch, on the occasion of the World Cancer Day, the review of Europe's Beating Cancer Plan was published. The review is looking at what has been achieved and the state of implementation of its various actions. The document also seeks to assess whether the actions taken so far and ongoing actions are sufficient to achieve the Cancer Plan's objectives, or whether additional measures are necessary.

The review concludes that the Cancer Plan remains highly relevant. The vast majority of stakeholders confirm that it will be essential to continue to implement ongoing actions to achieve the Cancer Plan's aims. Stakeholders were widely consulted through the the Study on mapping and evaluating the implementation of the Europe's Beating Cancer Plan  , which was also published on 4 February.
