JRC SciArt joins the POLART Advisory Board

  • News | 01 Sep 2026
Caterina Benincasa, curator and head of JRC SciArt, has joined the Advisory Board of POLART, a research project based at the University of Glasgow exploring the evolving relationship between art and public policy.

POLART investigates this relationship in both directions: how the arts can shape, steer and reform public policy, and how policy issues in turn transform artistic practice and forms of engagement. The project is supported through the European Research Council’s Horizon Programme and the UKRI Frontier Research Guarantee.

The collaboration closely connects with JRC SciArt’s work on the role of artistic research within science and policymaking: exploring what artists can bring to the production of knowledge, institutional processes and public decision-making.

Participation in the POLART Advisory Board offers an opportunity to exchange knowledge and experience across these fields and contribute to a growing international conversation on the role of the arts in shaping policy and institutional change.
