New generations of cars are making use of advances in the field of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to provide semi-autonomous and autonomous driving capabilities, achieving a technological breakthrough that will...
AI is experiencing a period of intense progress, due to several key technological enablers: faster processing, increased amounts of data, and better algorithms.
The effective implementation of AI will require the completion of the Digital Single Market and its regulatory framework including the swift adoption of the Commission proposal for a European Cybersecurity, reinforced connectivity through spectrum coordination, very fast 5G mobile networks and optical fibres, next generation clouds, as well as satellite technologies . High-performance computing and AI will increasingly intertwine as we transit to a future using new computing, storage and communication technologies. Standardisation will also be essential for the development of AI in the Digital Single Market, helping notably to ensure interoperability.
